Nairobi, KENYA: Kenya’s Sports Disputes Tribunal SDT on Wednesday ruled that Sofapaka FC and Muhoroni Youth be reinstated to the top tier league KPL.

The two clubs had been demoted by Football Kenya Federation FKF for failing to meet club licensing requirements as instructed by World football governing body FIFA.

However, in his adjudication SDT Chairman John Ohaga overturned the decision questioning the technique in which FKF club licensing committee handled the matter.

Ohaga declared the manual used by the club licensing committee to dictate clubs to be awarded licenses as defective of substance.

The ruling means Sofapaka and Muhoroni Youth are likely to feature in the KPL 2017 season that kicked off last weekend.

FKF nevertheless has a room to appeal should it feel discontented with the outcome of the case since Ohaga did not give a permanent injunction in his ruling.
