Late Senator Boy to be buried in his Vanga home, Kwale

Kwale, KENYA: Kwale Senator Boy Juma Boy who passed away on Sunday is expected be laid to rest today (Monday) at his Vanga home, Kwale County.

The Late Senator died at the Aga Khan Hospital in Nairobi on Sunday;after being flown from a Mombasa hospital where he was rushed after suffering from a sudden illness.

Senator Boy has represented Kwale County since the 2013 elections.

He became the youngest MP when he succeeded his father, Juma Boy, as Matuga MP in 1983.

He retained his seat in the 1988 and 1992 elections. He also once served as the Kanu Chief Whip.

He was known for his humor, his debating skills, his unparalleled mastery of the Swahili language and never harboring any hatred for his competitors from across the political divide.

His body was transported to the South Coast on Sunday night.

He was elected Kwale Senator in the March 4, 2013 general election, after garnering 60,886 votes against Chirau Mwakwere’s 41,753.

Boy had also been opposing the extension of Base Titanium mining area to locations including Lunga Lunga, Vanga and Mafisini.
