Mombasa, KENYA: Kenya Port Authority KPA saw off Co-operative Bank 79-66 at Nyayo Gymnasium, Nairobi on Sunday to claim Kenya Basketball Federation KBF men’s title for the 2016 season.

After  winning the first two legs off the best fives of the final play-offs held in Mombasa a fortnight ago, the Dockers needed victory in the third game to be crowned champions.

That however did not come with ease as they succumbed to a 79-59 defeat to Co-op Bank in Game Three on Saturday taking the play-offs to Game four where they bounced to 79-66 victory.

The success saw KPA claim the best-of-five of the series 3-1 to clinch their first league titles since 2014, and qualify for the FIBA Africa club championship to be held later this year.

Elsewhere, KPA women’s team stands a chance to double the Dockers leagues dominance this season should they overcome Equity Bank in Game Five of the play-offs finals on Monday.

The two are tied 2-2 thus the winner of today’s match will be crowned champion.
