Nairobi, KENYA: Deputy president William Ruto has denied claims that he has neglected his 11 year old daughter born out of wedlock; as earlier reported on various media outlets.
On his twitter handle, Ruto admitted that he indeed has a child out of wedlock and that she was in a boarding school and he took good care of her.
“My 11 year old child Abby is well catered for including her education in private boarding school.Politicians& Busybodies should keep off.” posted Ruto.
He wanted politicians to keep away from his personal issues and focus on important agenda.
According to court documents seen by Baraka FM, a woman on Thursday sued Ruto for neglecting a child he sired with her in 2006.
Ms Chemutai claimed that the deputy president had totally neglected his parental responsibilities despite his early assurance to take care of the minor.
In a suit filed under certificate of urgency in a Nairobi children court, the mother has said that she was not able to provide basic necessities such as good health, food ,school fees, decent clothing, shelter and medication to the child.
The suit was filed on Thursday by Gitobu Imanyara & Co.Advocates on behalf of Ms Chemutai.
