Mombasa, KENYA: The Independent Electoral Boundaries Commission IEBC South Coast coordinator Gogo Nguma, has encouraged people living disabilities to come out in large numbers to be registered as voters.
Speaking to Baraka FM on Tuesday, Nguma said that they have all the required tools to make sure everybody is catered for in matters relating to disability.
“The systems have provisions called exception, it’s a system whereby in case the person does not have one hand or both hands, it captures the facial features, and vice verse,” said Nguma.
Nguma added that they have also educated their clerks at various centers, on how to handle any case where the subjects have any kind of disability.
“We have educated our clerks on how to handle such cases, but if they face any challenges we have given them a specific number to call for any clarification,” added Nguma.
