CORD set for mega BOMAS meeting to discuss Election Law

Nairobi,KENYA: Plans by CORD consituent parties to hold a mega meeting at Bomas of Kenya in Nairobi on Wednesday this week is intact, after passage of controversial election law by legislative assemblies.

Speaking to the press in Nairobi on Monday, CORD co-chair senator James Orengo said that all CORD leaders and all aspirants in oposition will be meeting to discuss weighty election matters including election laws passed by National Assembly and senate to adopt manual system back up during voting.

“There is an election law that went through the National Assembly the Senate and will become law,we will wish to take our members through it as we head to elections so that they fully understand what the challenge in the electoral law is.”Orengo said.

He said that they will also discuss on how to strengthen the opposition.

“On Wednesday we are having this meeting which will bring opposition together, and we wiil discuss on how we are going to strengthen our bond.”He said.

Orengo said that CORD affiliate parties agenda of the meeting, also will involve the expansion of the opposition where parties including ODM, Ford Kenya, Amani National congress and Kanu will be involved in those engagements.

He added that the Issue of massive voter registration in the first quarter of this year will also be discussed.
