Gor Mahia ropes in seven new players as it eyes more for 2017 season

Nairobi, KENYA: Kenya Premier League bigwigs Gor Mahia has confirmed acquiring the services of seven new players as it continue to bolster its squad ahead of the 2017 season set to kick off next month, February.

The new signings are midfielder Oliver Maloba who has penned a three year contract from relegated side Nairobi City Stars, striker Jeconiah Uyoga from Technical University of Kenya TUK and John Ndirangu who crosses over from rivals AFC Leopards.

Others are midfielder Philemon Otieno, goalkeeper Shaban Odhoji who switched allegiance as a free agent from league rivals Ushuru FC and Kakamega High student Alpha Onyango, who has signed an initial four years contract with the club.

According to a statement posted on the club’s official website on Friday, the list is not final as the club is still looking to nail a few more transfer targets.

Meanwhile, unconfirmed reports claims that Gor Mahia has dropped ten players with captain Jerry Onyango, defender Jackson Saleh and striker Jacob Keli among those shown the exit door.

Gor Mahia is set to resume training next week before travelling to Sudan to face play hosts Al Hilal in a friendly match.

Kenya Premier League clubs are currently busy beefing up their squads before the transfer window shut down on 31st January.
