Six people were killed after a matatu they were travelling in collided with a car along the Thika-Garissa highway in Machakos County.
According to police, the six burnt to death after a gas cylinder that was in the matatu burst into flames following the collision.
The accident that took place at Kwa Majini Bridge left eight others severely injured.
The injured were rushed to Matuu Level four hospital with serious burn injuries.
