Kilifi County Senatorial aspirant, Carolyne Andzazi Chilango has decamped from UDA to ANC.

In a statement on Tuesday, Chilango said she made the move after consultation with close allies and Kilifi county residents.

Chilango, an advocate, claims hidden agendas of some county leaders in the party also pushed her to leave the party associated with Deputy President William Ruto.

“After consulting with my colleagues and residents of Kilifi County, I decided that it would be better for me to withdraw from the UDA Party because we would not want to tarnish the party’s image because of the few people with their hidden agendas.” Reads part of her statement.

She announced to have officially joined Musalia Mudavadi’s ANC hoping to win the seat in August polls.

Chilango promised to ensure accountability, justice and transparency if she is elected.

She also welcomed the political rallies held by Ruto in Kilifi County last weekend to drum up support for politicians under Kenya Kwanza coalition.
