A 48-year-old man has been arrested by police at Amu Island in Lamu County for allegedly defiling a 15-year-old pupil.
The girl was expected to join the first form this year.
Amu OCS Amu Mr. Muhammed Bochi said the suspect is being detained at the police station awaiting arraignment.
The suspect, Shamuni Mwalimu, is alleged to have a habit of taking the young girl to a hotel in the area before defiling her.
