The Mombasa County Assembly has suspended sittings for two weeks after three Members of County Assembly tested positive for COVID-19.

This comes barely a week after three schools in the county, Tononoka Secondary School, Mama Ngina Girls and Star of the Sea High School, were closed after teachers tested positive for the disease.

Tononoka Secondary School’s Principal Mohammed Khamis succumbed to the disease on Monday.

Mombasa COVID-19 cases have been on the rise recently with the County recording 203 cases in the last three days.
