A DCI officer is receiving treatment at MEPHI Hospital in Kilifi after he shot himself.
The officer, who was rushed to the hospital today, said he was inspecting his gun but accidentally fired a shot that hit him in the leg.
Kilifi County Police Commander Stephen Matu, by telephone, confirmed the incident but did not elaborate.
