Coast region records 27 new COVID-19 cases

21 more cases have been reported in Mombasa as the country recorded 218 cases in the last 24 hours.

According to the statement released by Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe, the 21 cases in Mombasa are in Jomvu 15 cases, Kisauni 3, Mvita 2 and Nyali 1.

Others include Kilifi 1, Taita Taveta 5, Nairobi 68 and Kisii 28 as the country’s total cases recorded in 24 hours hit 218 cases bringing total of positive cases to 37,707.

Kagwe indicated that 159 were males while 59 females while in terms of age, those who were positive in terms of age they ranged from one year old to 78 years.

“Sadly, 13 patients have succumbed to the disease bringing the fatality to 682,” Kagwe said in a statement.

170 people recovered from the disease 91 from various hospitals while 79 from home based care program.

Total recoveries stand at 24,504.
