The country on Sunday recorded a new low in COVID-19 infections after 83 people tested positive for the disease nationally from a sample of 3,093 tested in the last 24 hours, raising total tally to 35,103.
“Cumulative tests stands at 474, 477. From the new cases, 77 are Kenyans & 6 are foreigners,” said health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe.
Meanwhile, 72 patients recovered from the disease raising total COVID-19 recoveries in the country to 21,230.
39 of the new recoveries are from the home-based care program while 33 were discharged from various hospitals across the country.
However, three more people succumbed to the disease raising national COVID-19 fatalities to 597.
The new recoveries and fatalities now bring Kenya’s total active COVID-19 cases to 13,276, which is about 39% of country’s total infections.
