Blogger and self-proclaimed tea master Edgar Obare on Monday denied sharing documents of Vlogger Natalie Tewa.

Appearing at the Kiambu Law courts, Obare was charged with the unlawful disclosure of data under section 73 of the data protection act of 2019.

“On diverse dates between July 9, 2020, and July 13, 2020, at an unknown place within the Republic of Kenya, using social media accounts, domain name, www.bnn.ke, and verified Instagram account @edgarobare, unlawfully disclosed to your followers’ personal data of visa belonging to Natalie Wanjiru Githinji without her consent.” His charge sheet read.

Obare was arrested on Thursday at his house in Kisumu before being escorted to the DCI headquarters in Kisumu for questioning.

In the weeks preceding his arrest, the controversial blogger who has in the past locked horns with celebrities such as Jalango had claimed that the YouTube vlogger had accompanied Mombasa governor Ali Hassan Joho to visit ODM leader Raila Odinga in Dubai.

The blogger further claimed that Joho had gifted Natalie Tewa an Audi car claims which Tewa denied blaming the rumors on an existing culture of tearing down people.

“We have such a terrible culture of tearing other people down in the name of gossip. There’s already too much negativity in this world, contributing to it doesn’t improve your life or take you higher. Instead use your time wisely, because every minute of our lives counts.” She said.

Obare is set to know whether he will be released on bail in the afternoon.
