Kenya Airways arranges Friday Flight for Kenyans stranded in the UK

Kenyan citizens and residents stranded in the United Kingdom can fly home on Friday.

Kenya Airways has arranged a fifth flight from London to Kenya on Friday next week, for Kenyans stranded in the UK.

“The Kenya High Commission in London is pleased to inform Kenyan residents in the UK that arrangements for a 5th flight from London, Heathrow to Nairobi have been finalized. In this regard, Kenya Airways will be operating a flight for Kenyan Citizens/Residents (permit holders) to return to Kenya on Friday 17th July 2020,” said the Commission on their website.

The flight which will leave London, Heathrow at 11am is expected to arrive in Nairobi at 9:35pm.

Apart from a ticket, those who will be traveling will also need a COVID-19 free certificate to board the flight.

“Passengers will be subjected to the 14-28 days mandatory quarantine period imposed by the Government at their own cost in line with the Ministry of Health guidelines. List of Hotels attached,” said the Commission.

Other requirements include the passengers to complete the Coronavirus Quarantine Declaration form attached; also non-Kenyan passport holders must have pre-clearance and/or valid Residency/Work permits.

On Wednesday, Ministry of Transport Cabinet Secretary James Macharia said that there will be no mandatory quarantine for passengers arriving in Kenya from other countries when international flights resume on 1st August, 2020.

Passengers would only be quarantined if they exhibit COVID-19 symptoms.
