15 students evacuated from Sudan test COVID-19 Positive in Mombasa

15 students among the 129 that were evacuated from Sudan on Saturday have tested COVID-19 positive.

Mombasa County Chief Executive for health Hadija Shikelly on Thursday confirmed and said that they were isolated at the Technical University of Mombasa.

The students arrived at Moi International airport on board Kenya airways flight on Saturday.

According to Shikely all students were taken to a compulsory quarantine at Kenya School of Government within Kizingo area after going through mandatory medical checkups.

The students were from the Coastal Counties of Kwale, Mombasa, Lamu and Kilifi.

They were stranded in Sudan due to COVID-19 pandemic
