307 more people test positive for COVID-19

The country has recorded 307,  the highest number of COVID-19 new cases in 24 hours.

According to Health Chief Administrative Secretary Dr. Rashid Aman, the cases are from 3,591 samples tested bring the total confirmed cases to 6,673.

Of the new cases, 298 are Kenyans while 18 are foreigners. With 215 being males and 92 females.

The youngest of the new cases is one year old, while the oldest is 81 years.

The cases are distributed as follows; Nairobi 154, Mombasa 38, Machakos, 33, Kiambu 20, Narok 20, Kajiado 14, Busia 10, Kericho 4, Makueni and Nakuru 5 cases each, Kilifi, Kisumu, Kitui and Uasin Gishu (1) case each.

Mombasa cases are spread in Mvita (22), Likoni (10), Changamwe (5) and Nyali (1), While the Kilifi case is in Kilifi North.

“The testing we do is intensive and costly. Currently we have 28 testing facilities across the country,” said CAS Aman.

50 more patients were discharged from the isolation centers as one more patient reported dead from the disease.
