Mombasa county has recorded another eight new COVID-19 positive cases bringing the total number of cases to 565.

New cases are distributed in five Sub counties within Mombasa as follows: Mvita two cases, Changamwe two cases, Kisauni two cases while Likoni and Nyali recorded one case each.

Chief Administrative Secretary for Health Rashid Aman on Tuesday confirmed 72 new COVID-19 positive cases countrywide.

“In the last 24 hours, we have tested 2,892 people of which 72 tested positive bringing a total of 2,093 positive cases in the country, “said Aman.

Other counties that recorded new COVID-19 positive cases include Nairobi county 39 cases, Busia 13 cases, Kajiado four cases, Migori three cases, Kiambu two cases, Garissa two cases, and Kisumu one case.

Aman further said that 17 more patients were discharged from the hospital after tested negative bringing a total of 499 recoveries from the virus.

Two more COVID-19 patients succumbed to the virus.
