Three Children from the same family in Malindi have died after eating suspected poisoned food.

The deceased are aged 3, 5 and 7 years and hailed from Karima village in Malindi.

According to Shella sub-chief Nicodemus Mwayele, the children started vomiting after taking the food and died as they were being rushed to the hospital.

The Malindi Deputy Sub County Police Commander Simon  Muli said the family did not report the incident forcing police to order the bodies to be preserved for postmortem.

“We were tipped off by residents forcing us to rush to the hospital and asked them to preserve the bodies for postmortem before we can establish what transpired”, he said.

Muli said action will be taken after the post mortem results are out.
