Kilifi County deputy governor Gideon Saburi has been arrested after he was discharged at the Coast Provincial General Hospital in Mombasa.
Saburi was arrested at noon after the DCI camped the facility where he was discharged on Friday morning.
He is being held at port police station awaiting to be arraigned in court and charged.
Saburi had tested positive on Sunday, March 22, weeks after arriving in the country from Germany via Amsterdam on March 6.
Health CS Mutahi Kagwe on Thursday, April 2, announced that Kilifi Deputy Governor Gideon Saburi had made a full recovery from Coronavirus.
Speaking at Afya House, Mutahi stated that the DG had been declared fit after being subjected to three tests and criminal charges would be preferred against him.
Kilifi county where the DG had continued going about his business after defying the directive to self-quarantine has so far recorded six cases.
