A 30 year old passenger travelling from Nairobi to Mombasa died after coughing and collapsing on Sunday night.
According to police report, Fredrick Mbachu began coughing at about 0240 hours in Kibwenzi before he collapsed and died.
“IT WAS REPORTED BY CHARLES MACHARIA MBURU THE DRIVER OF M/V REG. NO. KCU 756C SCANIA BUS C/O CHANNIA COOL BUS COMPANY THAT UPON ARRIVING AT TALEH HOTEL MAP.REF. CH 012421 ABOUT 2KM NORTH OF THE STATION FROM NAIROBI TOWARDS MOMBASA FOR A STOPOVER ONE PASSENGER NAMELY FREDRICK MBACHU MWAKIMA TAITA M/A AGED ABOUT 30 YEARS BEGUN COUGHING AND COLLAPSED AND PASSED ON,” read the report in part.
Kibwezi public health officers removed the body and fumigated the bus.
Postmortem will be carried out to establish the cause of his death.
