A special service unit at the Directorate of criminal investigation has apprehended a Boda Boda operator suspected of raping a foreigner.

According to the report released by the DCI on Friday  Dennis Wekesa 27 years old was arrested on Thursday night at Gachie area in Nairobi and will be charged with the offense of rape.

The suspect is alleged to have committed the offense on March 7, 2020.

“A foreign national residing in Kenya requested a bodaboda trip through a Hailing App while at Anahita Apartments within Parklands and was to be dropped at Siaya road within Kileleshwa” the DCI report stated.

The DCI further revealed that while en route to Kileleshwa, the motorcycle rider wrestled, raped and dumped the victim.

Police have also accused the suspect of stealing the victim’s property including personal effects and later switched off his phone before he went in hiding.

Police have been perusing the suspects who went in hiding until on Thursday night when he was arrested.

The victim was treated at a local hospital, discharged and police have said that he is in a fair condition.

DCI has said that Wekesa will be arraigned in court once necessary Police procedure is complete.
