Suspected armed robbers on Tuesday shot dead a woman at Mikindani Estate in Mombasa before stealing an unknown amount of money from her.
The Woman died as she was being rushed to Bomu hospital for treatment.
According to the police, the businesswoman was attacked as she closed her business at around 9 pm.
The gangsters later escaped using a motorbike.
In another incident, a suspected robber was arrested by police in Changamwe after a botched robbery targeting an M-Pesa outlet.
Changamwe OCPD Ali Ndiema said the suspect was nabbed by members of the public after they realized that his pistol had no bullets.
“ The suspect was among a group of two other men who attacked an M-Pesa shop today morning”, he said.
He said the suspect has been arrested and will be interrogated concerning crimes targeting M-Pesa shops in Mombasa.
“His two accomplices escaped on a motorbike”, said Ndiema.
