Kilifi, KENYA: A family in Balaga village of Magarini sub-county has been sent into mourning following the loss of their kin.
The 40-year-old man was hacked to death in the wee hours of Monday by unknown men.
According to witnesses, the attackers who were armed with machetes stormed the compound of the deceased before proceeding to hack his head.
The deceased who has been identified as Daniel Kambi Ngonyo succumbed to his injuries immediately after the attack
The perpetrators who are still at large later escaped into a nearby forest.
The motive for the attack has not yet been known, however, the attack has ignited fears of the return of witch-hunt executions in the area.
Magarini Police boss Gerald Barasa confirmed the incident saying police had launched investigations into the matter.
The body of the deceased was taken to the Malindi Sub-county hospital mortuary.
