Mombasa, KENYA: Kilifi Governor Amason Kingi did not attend the launching of the first Coast counties Blue Economy conference presided by president Uhuru Kenyatta after losing his traveling documents.
Kingi had been traveling to Italy from Brussels on Sunday when his briefcase containing his passport other valuable items was stolen at the airport.
Explaining his absence during the launch, Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho, jokingly told the dignitaries to accept his apologies.
“I speak on my behalf and that of my friend governor Kingi, he would have been here, but even an elderly man also can also lose his passport, so he lost his passport and he is not able to be with us”, said Joho.
Kingi had attended 3rd ACP-EC-UN-Habitat International Tripartite Conference in Brussels, Belgium.
