Mombasa, KENYA: Mombasa County Senator Mohammed Faki is mourning his son Ahmed Mohammed Mwinyihaji.

Mwinyihaji passed away on Friday before his body was taken to the Pandya memorial hospital mortuary.

Details on the cause of death are still sketchy.

The burial swala will take place at Masjid Marembo on Friday after the Friday Swala according to the Muslim culture and thereafter be laid to rest at Kikowani cemetery.

Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho has sent a condolence to the family for their loss.

“On behalf of my family and the County Government of Mombasa, I condole Senator Mohammed Faki and his family for the loss of his son Ahmed Mohammed Mwinyihaji. We pray to the Almighty to grant him Jannatul Firdaus and accept all his good deeds. May the Almighty assuage your grief, grant you patience and strength to endure the sorrow.  Inna Lillahi Waina Ileyhi Rajiuun,” Governor Joho wrote on Facebook.

We express our condolence to the family for their loss.

Mwinyihaji actively campaigned for his father when he was seeking the Mombasa senatorial position last year.
