Sarova Hotels Chairman Saveer Vohra and his family members have died in a car crash.
Vohra, his wife, daughter and daughter-in-law died in a road crash on Sunday on the Nairobi-Mombasa highway in Makueni.
According to Mukaa police boss Charles Muthui, the Toyota Landcruiser that Vohra and his family were traveling in veered off the road and landed in a ditch.
Vohra was taken to Sultan Hamud County Hospital before he was flown to a hospital in Nairobi for specialized treatment.
“Two people died on the spot and the other two were pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital,” said Muthui.
The family was traveling back to Nairobi from a religious ceremony in Makindu Sikh Temple.
The bodies of the four relatives were moved to Machakos County Referral Hospital mortuary while the wreckage of the vehicle towed to Salama Police Station.
