12 more days in remand for Obado as he awaits bail ruling

Nairobi, KENYA: Migori Governor Zachary Okoth Obado will have to wait until October 24th to know whether he will be granted bail.

Obado and his co-accused, his personal assistant Michael Oyamo and Migori County clerk Caspel Obiero, are facing two counts of murder following the gruesome murder of Sharon Otieno and her seven month old foetus.

The three appeared before High Court Judge Jessie Lessit on Friday afternoon for their bail application hearing.

The bail ruling will be given on October 24th.

The accused lawyers tried to get the date get an earlier date but Lessit said 24th was the earliest.

“In fact this is too early, I should push it forward,” she said.

The three are being remanded at Industrial Area prison.
