Mombasa,KENYA:The Changamwe Divisional Criminal Investigations officer Nahashon Kibet Minai was on Thursday evening nabbed by EACC sleuths after he allegedly received a sh 7000 bribe.
Nahashon is alleged to solicited and received the bribe from a Mombasa based blogger whose identity remains protected.
The bribe was to release the bloggers phone which he had earlier confiscated.
“Changamwe Divisional Criminal Investigations Officer CPL Nahashon Kibet Minai nabbed by EACC Mombasa based detectives receiving a Kshs. 7,000 bribe to release a mobile phone belonging to a Mombasa based blogger” The EACC said in a statement.
The DCI officer who is expected to be arraigned in court was detained at Port Police station before being released on cash bail.
