Silver-stone air granted licence to fly Nairobi -Mombasa via Ukunda

Mombasa,KENYA:Budget airline Silverstone air has been granted a licence to fly to Mombasa from Wilson airport in Nairobi with a stop over at Ukunda airstrip.

In  the latest issue of the Gazette notice the airline wich last year introduced direct flights from Mombasa to Kisumu has also been granted a licence to fly to additional destinations including  Homabay,Kitale, Wajir ,Mandera ,Amboseli and regions in the Masaai Mara including Angama  and Keekorok  from the Wilson airport in Nairobi.

The airlines current routes are Mombasa-Kisumu-Mombasa,Wilson –Kisumu-Wilson,Wilson –Ukunda-Wilson, Wilson –Lamu-Wilson ,Lamu-Malindi –Lamu and Malindi –Wilson-Lamu.

In the licence granted which is a variation of the airlines existing licence, the airline will operate flights to and  from Nairobi to Mombasa via Ukunda, Wilson to Homabay via Kisumu ,Wilson to Kitale,Wilson to Wajir via Mandera .

The airline has also been granted a license to fly to  several areas in the Masaai Mara like Ngerende,Keekorok,Shikar,Musiara,Kichwa

Tembo,Olkiombo,Serena,Siana Springs,Olare,Orok,Naboisho  and Angama

Earlier in the year, the Silverstone Managing director Mohamed Somow told  aviation news site  African  Aerospace  that the airline was in the process of leasing several jets in order to compete against other local airlines.
