Two NYS scandal suspects denied anticipatory bail

Mombasa,KENYA:The high court on Friday denied anticipatory bail applications by two NYS scandal suspect.
This is according to an announcement from the office of the director of public prosecutions Noordin Hajji.

The two Benard Masinga Ayienga who is a Senior Finance Officer at the Ministry of Public Service, Youth and Gender Affairs and James Thuita Nderitu a director at Firstlings capital limited were denied bail by Lady Justice Ngenye Macharia who argued that the applications lacked merit.

James Thuita is listed as the majority shareholder of firstlings capital limited together with Yvonne wanjiku and an investigation revealed that his company received sh 1.5 billion as payments by the NYS between September 2016 and August 2017.

Investigators say corrupt officials created the companies and assigned them with contract numbers in order to facilitate fraud.
