Nairobi, KENYA: Ivorian import Ephrem Guikan scored a brace to help Gor Mahia defeat Kakamega Homeboyz 3-2 in the Kenyan Premier League match played at Bukhungu stadium on Wednesday.

The hosts drew the first blood through Ahmed Ali at the stroke of the hour-mark before Guikan leveled three minutes into the break.

The Ivorian forward put K’ogalo into the lead shortly after the break only for their celebration to be cut short by Harambee Stars forward Allan Awanga who made it 2-2 in the 69th minute.

Defender Charles Momanyi however ensured Gor Mahia take three points with his 80th-minute goal extending his former employer’s winless streak to three successive matches.

The result sees Gor Mahia cement its lead at the apex having amassed 30 points, five ahead of second-placed Ulinzi Stars who have played two matches more.
