Taita Taveta, KENYA: Detectives in Taita Taveta county have launched a manhunt for a woman who dumped a six month old foetus at a garbage disposal area after procuring abortion.
Confirming the incident ,Voi OCPD Joseph Chesire said the foetus was found dumped inside a garbage at Sofia Pentagon area Saturday morning.
The officer said the foetus was discovered by children who were playing near the dumpsite who saw a lesso soaked in blood.
“We have launched investigations and we will soon apprehend the culprit ,” he said
The OCPD said the police rushed to the scene and collected the foetus ,adding that it(foetus) has been taken to Voi hospital mortuary.
The residents condemned the incident and urged security officers to conduct thorough investigations to arrest the suspect who is still at large.
