Achesa,Karoney, 7 other CSs take oath of office

Nairobi,KENYA:9 Cabinet nominees who were approved by parliament have taken an oath of office on Friday morning.

The 9 include Farida Karoney(Lands and housing),Rashid Achesa(Sports and heritage),Monicah Juma (Foreign affairs and international trade),Simon Chelungui( Water and Sanitation),Keriako Tobiko (Environment and forestry) ,Margaret Kobia (Public service,youth and gender affairs,Ukkur Yattani(Labour and social services) Peter Munya (East Africa community and Northern corridor development) and John Munyes (mining and petroleum).

Speaking after the taking the oath of office president Uhuru Kenyatta urged the nominees to sacrifice to accountable public service delivery to achieve the governments big four agenda.

“I trust and indeed and have no doubt that you will match those expectations.Should you at any time feel that the weight is too much, just feel free to do so” Uhuru Kenyatta said.

The president also warned that the new posts are not a chance for self-actualization.

The 9 cabinet secretaries join a group of cabinet secretaries who were either retained
or transferred to different ministries who include Najib Balala(Tourism),Amina Mohamed(Education) Dr Fred Matiang’I (Interior),Eugene Wamalwa(Devolution),Sicily Kariuki(Health),Adan Mohamed(Trade industry and cooperatives),James Macharia (Transport)Joe Mucheru(ICT),Mwangi Kiunjuri (Agriculture)Charles Keter(Energy)  and Henry Rotich (treasury).
