Mombasa, KENYA: Residents of Mshomoroni in Mombasa are still in shock following the death of a man suspected to have committed suicide over a love triangle.
26-year-old Peter Mwinyi allegedly hanged himself in his room Wednesday morning after he found out that his wife had been having a love affair with another man.
Residents who spoke to Baraka FM said the two engaged in a heated argument Tuesday evening but his wife later on escaped, the man’s body was found Wednesday morning.
“The man had reported the matter to the chief and the two had been summoned on Wednesday to appear before the chief where the matter was to be heard,” said one of the residents.
Mombasa county police commander Johnstone Ipara confirmed the incident saying investigations have been launched.
The body was moved to Coast general hospital morgue.
