Nairobi, KENYA: NASA co-principals Kalonzo Musyoka and Musalia Mudavadi were conspicuously absent during the swearing in of NASA leader Raila Odinga.
The swearing in ceremony which lasted for slightly over 20 minutes saw the NASA leader administered the oath office by Ruaraka MP TJ Kajwang.
“ I Raila Amollo Odinga in the realization of the high calling assume the office of the people’s president of Kenya” Raila Odinga took the oath.
Raila Odinga acknowledged that his running mate Kalonzo Musyoka and co-principal Musalia Mudavadi were not in the event saying that they had missed the event due to unavoidable circumstances that would be revealed later.
“Kalonzo is not around ,Kalonzo will be sworn in later because of what you will come to know later” Raila Odinga said.
This comes just a few hours after Kalonzo Musyoka told journalists that his security detail had been withdrawn.
Right after Raila saying Kalonzo could not make it for the swearing-in ceremony, Kenyans took to the internet to speculate on why he did not show up, while others expressed their disappointments.

Raila was CLEARLY abandoned at his hour of need. I kept saying it here. Weta, Mudavadi and Kalonzo abandoned Raila. A worst embarrassment of a decade. Stop telling us it is for the country. It is for self. It has always been for self. Nonsense #RailaSwearingIn
