Police hunting two security guards over banker’s death in Mombasa

Mombasa,KENYA:Detectives in Mombasa are hunting down two security guards who allegedly killed a bank employee in Nyali area.

The Stanbic employee identified as David Wakaba died yesterday in a Mombasa hospital.

Police say he sustained serious injuries after he was assaulted by four security guards.

Mombasa police boss Johnstone Ipara told reporters the four security guards belonging to Solvet security firm had severely beaten the man accusing him of relieving himself within the premises where they were guarding.

“As the late was relieving himself in the nearby ,this security guards officers assaulted him without any other reason,’said police boss.

He said the police had earlier arrested two other suspected guards and presented them to court but they had requested the Shanzu law court to release the file so that they can substite the earlier charges with a charge of murder.

Meanwhile police are holding a 60 year old woman in Changamwe accused of burning a 9-year-old boy using hot water.

The suspect identified as Lucy Wangechi a resident of Mikindani was arrested Thursday morning by officers drawn from Changamwe police station.

The accused is said to boiled water and poured it on the little boy identified as Stephen Luhaso.
Police said the young boy sustained serious burns in his head,face and abdomen.

Police have launched investigations to ascertain the motive.

Mombasa police comannder Johnstone Ipara said the suspect will be arraigned in court Friday.
