Mombasa,KENYA:Former Mombasa senator Hassan Omar’s family is bereaved.
The senator’s mother Bi Aisha Abdillahi Suleiman Mazrui passed on on Sunday night.
President Uhuru Kenyatta and Mombasa governor Ali Hassan Joho is among the first politicians to condole with Omar’s family.
“It is with deep sorrow that Mombasa mourns the death of Mama Aisha Abdullahi Suleiman Mazrui, the mother to the former senator of Mombasa Hon. Hassan Omar Sarai.
She was an extremely kind and generous woman known to many in Old Town as Khalati Esha.
May the Almighty grant her Jannatul Firdaus. Inna Lillahi Waina ileyhi Rajiuun.” Wrote Mombasa governor Ali Hassan Joho.
Funeral prayers will be held at the Masjid Mandry mosque on Monday after the 4.00 pm prayers.
Thereafter a burial at the Mazrui cemetry opposite Fort Jesus.
