National, KENYA: Incumbent President Uhuru Kenyatta who is also the Jubilee presidential candidate has been declared president elect after garnering 7,616,217 which is of 98.26% of the votes cast .
In repeat elections held on October 26th, Uhuru edged out National Super Alliance presidential candidate Raila Odinga who withdrew from the race garnering 73,258 votes which is 0.96 percent of the votes.
Thirdway alliance presidential candidate Ekuru Aukot came in third after garnering 21,333 votes, while Allinace for real change candidate Abduba Dida garnered 14,107 votes coming fourth while Japheth Kaluyu’s garnered 8,261 votes.
The results were from 278 constituencies out of a total of 291 constituencies as Homabay which has 8 constituencies and Siaya which has 5 constituencies recorded nil voters.
As per IEBC, there are 7,616,217 valid votes while 35,996 votes were rejected.
While announcing the results IEBC chair Wafula Chebukati said the results would not be affected by results from 4 counties where elections were to be repeated.
