Mombasa, KENYA: Harambee Starlets forward Mwanahalima Adams lead Mombasa Olympic to rout Coast Ladies 5-0 to lift the inaugural Muhuri Peace Women Soccer Tournament played at Freetown playground over the weekend.

Fresh from representing the nation in last month’s Cosafa tournament, Mwanahalima bagged a brace with Nuru Abdala also patching twice before Sharon Bushnei completed the thrashing.

Victory was in the offing for Mombasa Olympic who whitewashed Fortune Ladies 10-0 in the first semifinals as opposed to Coast Ladies who stunned Kipevu Ladies 4-1 in the other semis.

Besides winners and runners up trophies awarded to Mombasa Olympic and Coast Ladies respectively, all teams that took part in the tournament were fully kitted by the Civil Society Organization of Muslim For Human Rights MUHURI who were the sponsors.

The tournament was organized to promote peace especially among women who according to the lobby group are the most vulnerable to violence during the election period.
