Nairobi, KENYA: A group of young women from all walks of life have come out in solidarity to defend Independent Electorate and Boundaries Commission C.E.O Ezra Chiloba from what they term as victimization from political leaders.

Marion Njeri from Wazalendo Huru consultants, lead the women in demonstrating outside Anniversary towers (IEBC offices),by holding banners and placards that had the message “People’s court” and Justice for Chiloba.

Speaking to the media on Tuesday in Nairobi,Njeri said that Chiloba may have not come from a political family, but they still have hope that he was innocent and should not be implicated with wrongs he did not commit.

“We have hope for you, hope that was brought by the shade of the blood of our fore fathers, and we stand here in the spirit of the constitution,” she said.

She said that in article 150 of the constitution, chiloba deserves a fair hearing and a fair trial until proven guilty.

They added that their demonstration is not inclined to any political affiliation, but they have decided to stand at the other side of the history because they want to see stability in the country.

They appeal to the fathers of democracy of this country to stick to democracy they claim to have fought for,for the sake of peace.

The move is after National Super Alliance NASA leaders called for a nationwide demo that its aim is to see Ezra Chiloba resign from his job following alleged misconducts during August 8th elections.
