Champions Real Madrid sinks Dortmund in Germany

Defending champions Real Madrid made it two wins in two by beating hosts Borussia Dortmund 3-1 in their UEFA Champions League Group H match played at the Signal Iduna Park Tuesday night.

The Competition’s leading goal scorer Cristiano Ronaldo hit a brace taking his tally 109 with Welsh winger Gareth Bale also on target as Real Madrid maintain their perfect start to the championship.

Elsewhere, Turkish champions Besiktas registered a 2-0 success over RB Leipzig of Germany, Spartak Moscow held Liverpool to a 1-1 draw while Monaco lost 3-0 at home to visiting FC Porto.

At the Etihad stadium hosts Manchester City had to dig deep before overcoming Shakhtar Donetsk 2-0, Italian side Napoli cruised past Feyenoord 3-1 while Tottenham beat Apoel Nicosia 3-0 thanks to a hat-trick from Harry Cane.

In Wednesday’s fixtures Manchester United will be away in Russia to play hosts CSKA Moscow, Anderlecht entertain Celtic while Switzerland champions FC Basel welcome Portuguese side Benfica.

Elsewhere, Italian giants Juventus hosts Olympiakos, French moneybags PSG will be at home against Bundesliga heavyweights Bayern Munich as English champions Chelsea travel to face off with Spanish club Atletico Madrid.
