Mombasa,KENYA: Mombasa gubernatorial aspirant in the August 8th general elections on a Jubilee party ticket Suleiman Shabhal, on Monday said that the results of Jubilee votes in the county were rigged.

Speaking during the launch of their official campaigning for President Uhuru Kenyatta,Shabhal said they would ensure President Kenyatta would garner more votes in the area.

“We are aware that Uhuru got more votes in Mombasa but they were stolen. But we are now sure to get more votes this time round,” added Shahbal.

“We are officially starting our campaign for president Uhuru and we are going to increase the 10 percent margin,” Shahbal added.

He was accompanied by his running mate Annaniah Mwaboza who also urged all Jubilee politicians in Mombasa, including those who lost, to come out in large numbers and campaign for the president.

“We are urging all Jubilee candidates even those who lost, to come out. MCA, MPs, Women Reps, to come out and we hold hands together in making sure Uhuru wins with a big margin this time round”, said Mwaboza.

Also present during the press briefing held at Jubilee offices in Nyali, was Amina Abdalla who vied for the Mombasa women rep seat, who lashed out at NASA leaders saying they would contest the results in court.

“We are telling NASA leaders not to be so comfortable because even the seats they won, they might lose them”, said Amina Abdalla.

Their remarks comes a few hours after  the Education Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i  requested the IEBC to hold elections before the 17th of October to prevent national examinations from being disrupted.

Maraga on Friday  ordered the  IEBC to conduct a fresh presidential election within 60 days.
