Nairobi,KENYA:NASA co principal and Amani national congress leader  Musalia Mudavadi wants the IEBC to replace the late Christopher Msando with foreign hired experts.

Speaking during a press briefing in Nairobi on Tuesday the NASA co-principal urged the government to accept the offer made by the UK and the US to help in investigating the murder.

“Unless dramatic steps are taken Kenyans will not be assured of  a free and fair election,” Musalia said.

“We therefore suggest that to restore the shaken confidence in the electronic systems that are key to the credibility and success of the elections the IEBC should immediately secure the services of an internationally recognized expert in the area to supervise the system,” Musalia added.

Musalia who was accompanied by Machakos Senator Johnson Muthama and Siaya senator James Orengo, further criticized the government over what he termed as failure by the government to show concern over the acting IEBC directors death.

The late Christopher Msando who was the acting IEBC director was confirmed dead yesterday after his body was found at the city mortuary.

Police officers say his body had been found on Saturday at a Forest in Kerwa area of Kiambu constituency about 2 kilometres of the Nairobi-Naivasha highway.

The inspector General of police Joseph Boinnet yesterday in a press release said they had set up a special DCI homicide system to investigate his death.

The US and UK offered their help in investigating his death.
