Mombasa,KENYA:Bongo heartthrob Ali Kiba has released a song campaigning for his friend Mombasa governor Ali Hassan Joho and the NASA coalition.

In a song titled “Joho tena” the singer praises the Mombasa governor who is seeking re-election on a ODM party ticket.

The singer performed the song at  governor Joho’s campaign rally in Kisauni subcounty in Mombasa on Sunday.

A music video for the song has not yet been dropped and it is not clear if the singer would be dropping a video for the song.

This is not the first time the bongo artiste is using music to campaign for a political candidate.

In the  run-up to the 2015 Tanzanian general election, Kiba endorsed the Tanzanian president John Pombe Magufuli and was  seen performing  in several of his rallies together with other Tanzanian artistes like Diamond Platinumz and Yamoto Band.

However this does not come as a surprise to his fans as the singer has always enjoyed a close relationship with the Mombasa governor; even performing at major events in Mombasa like the Mombasa rocks concert alongside American RnB singer Chris Brown and the Tukutane Mombasa concerts in 2016.

Here is a video clip of the Bongo star performing the song in Kisauni sub-county  on Sunday 23rd July.
