Mombasa, KENYA: Police in Mombasa are pursuing a three man gang who allegedly shot and killed a local businessman in Maji machafu area in Kisauni.
The deceased identified as Alfred Mutua,27,a businessman, was confronted by gunmen in his premises at around 10 pm Monday night as he was about to close the business,police said.
The suspects made away with sh 25,000 and his mobile.
Kisauni police boss Christopher Rotich said the gunmen struck at his business premises and ordered to be given the money.
“The businessman accosted one of the suspect but one of his accomplice shot him as he was wrestling with him.” Said Rotich.
He said the suspects escaped on foot to an unknown destination.
He said police have launched investigations and a manhunt for the suspects who fled after committing the crime.
