Mombasa, KENYA: A woman was on Monday morning killed after a Matatu lost control before ramming into nearby kiosks at Buxton, Mombasa.

Witnesses say the matatu was speeding when it crashed into roadsides shops where the woman was standing killing her instantly and leaving many injured.

The body of the deceased was taken to Coast General Hospital as police launch investigations into the incident.

When contacted, Mombasa Urban Police boss Lucas Ogara told Baraka FM that police are following up the matter.

“Let me follow up on the matter before I comment further,” he told Baraka FM.

Meanwhile, residents want action to be taken against matatu drivers that are fond of overtaking in that area despite being risky as kiosks are lined along the road.
