A late Godfrey Walusimbi free-kick saved Gor Mahia of the blushes against a cagey Thika United side to share the spoils in a one all draw in the Kenyan Premier League round 12-match staged at the Nyayo National stadium on Sunday.

Struggling Thika took the lead 28 minutes into the match through Mwinyi Kibwana with Gor Mahia squandering the opportunity to level the score when Timothy Otieno saw his penalty saved in the 68th minute.

The results mean Gor Mahia remain top in the standings with 26 points, two better than second and third placed Ulinzi Stars and Tusker FC respectively who are separated by goal differences.

Ulinzi ended Posta Rangers’ unbeaten run with a 1-0 beating while defending champions Tusker were 2-0 winners over Mathare United on Saturday as AFC Leopards stumbled yet again going down 1-0 against Kakemega Homeboyz.

Other weekend’s results saw Zoo Kericho stunned Bandari FC 3-2, Sony Sugar edged Western Stima 2-0 while Nakumatt FC overcame Chemelil Sugar 2-1.
