Philip Charo to face off with Aisha Jumwa in August

Kilifi,KENYA:Philip Charo will now face off with the Kilifi women representative Aisha Jumwa for the Malindi parliamentary seat in the August polls.

This is the after two emerged winners in the ongoning party primaries.

Charo gathered 7,269 votes to win the Jubilee ticket against his opponent Peter Mwawana who managed 1,133 votes.

Ms Jumwa was declared the ODM candidate for Malindi parliamentary seat after defeating incumbent William Mtengo after garnering 8,436 votes.

Philip Charo lost to ODM’s Willy Mtengo in last year’s March by-elections with 9,000 votes, to the latter’s 14,000.

This follows the appointment of the then Mp Dan Kazungu as the the Cabinet Secretary for the mining ministry.

Meanwhile Amina Mnyazi clinched the Women representative jubilee ticket after  garnering 6,531 votes.
